About Us

Akdeniz University Engineering Faculty Civil Engineering Department started education in September 1998 with 33 students. During the establishment phase, it was aimed to create a contemporary lesson plan in the field of Civil Engineering education, taking into account the developments in the world and in Turkey.

The Department of Civil Engineering, both as instructors and as an education program, aims to raise students as graduates who have internalized theoretical basic information, have the ability to learn and research on their own, can observe, question the cause-effect relationship, think analytically, produce creative solutions, take decisions with a sense of responsibility in their own field, respect engineering ethics, are reliable, have advanced communication skills, can work in teams, are open to dialogue with people, and have empathy skills.
